Brazilian leather returns from Milan with positive business expectations

Lineapelle and Simac Tanning Tech recently took place in Milan, Italy. The exhibitions came to an end bringing positive prognosis for leather made in Brazil. At Lineapelle , four Brazilian tanneries showcased their products with support from Brazilian Leather, project dedicated to promote leather exports and coordinated by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil). At Simac Tanning Tech, it was project Brazilian Leather itself that captured everyone’s eyes through its exclusive space, which served as a meeting point for industry professionals and Brazilian authorities and where the Preview do Couro (Leather Preview) collection was presented to the public.

The two Italian exhibitions served to establish healthy institutional and commercial contacts, with results expected to grow even bigger within the next six months. According to Brazilian Leather project manager Letícia Luft, “the events are growing and gaining significant relevance in the international market”. “They worked as two very efficient platforms for our objectives, but we’ll also need a favorable exchange rate in order to turn business expectations into a reality”, she adds.

The Brazilian tanneries present at Lineapelle and Simac Tanning Tech welcomed buyers from Italy, Portugal, Belgium, and the USA. The high-qualified audience was also a stand out, as highlighted by Elton Haubert, from Courovale by BCM. “This edition of Lineapelle brought a high-standard audience, not only regarding the number of visitors who attended the event but also its quality and business potential. In its 92nd edition, Lineapelle gathered 1.200 exhibitors from 44 different countries, presenting to over 21 thousand people a diverse collection of materials focused on the development of future fashion collections.
