The creative work surrounding Spring/Summer 2018 collections in the Northern Hemisphere has officially initiated at Première Vision New York, which took place between January 17th and 18th. Four Brazilian tanneries took to the event their articles with support from Brazilian Leather, project dedicated to promote leather exports and coordinated by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil). The Brazilian participation in the New York event is expected to generate US$ 3,5 million in business within the next six months.

This edition of Première Vision placed leather as one of the event’s main articles. “This time, there was a greater influence and qualification regarding buyers from the leather sector, as well as a better acknowledgment of our products”, says Paulo Amaury Costa from Nova Kaeru, company specialized in special skins. This was the third time Première Vision New York dedicated space for leather, an initiative that has maximized business among buyers from major North-american brands and brought value to the event, which used to be focused on textile and accessories only.

Once again, the Brazilian Leather space at Première Vision New York was a true highlight. In fact, it’s growing to become a benchmark for the event. It is where Preview do Couro (Leather Preview) is presented to the public. The exhibition brings hides that anticipate future fashion trends and are the result of a carefully developed project involving a series of Brazilian tanneries – an initiative that has enhanced the country’s participation, diversity and business not only at this but other international events.
