Leather from Brazil’s next stop: Spain

Leather from Brazil is on its way to Spain, where soon it will participate in the Futurmoda fair in the province of Alicante on October 25th and 26th.  Four Brazilian business groups will be presenting their hides with the support of Brazilian Leather - an export incentive project developed by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brazil).

Futurmoda closes out leather from Brazil’s participation in a series of European events related to fashion that began in September with Première Vision Paris, was followed by Lineapelle in Milan, and now ends in Spain. It is a series of exhibitions that bring Brazilian leather closer to qualified international buyers, as CICB CEO José Fernando Bello explains. "Europe is a demanding market that Brazilian tanneries can serve well. We always seek to export leather with additional value for fashion and innovation, which is exactly what the public at these fairs look for in their suppliers" he notes.

In Spain, the main focus is the supply of materials for footwear collections. In addition to the individual Brazilian tannery stands, the Brazilian Leather project will be at the fair with the Leather Preview, presenting a creative collection of hides that anticipate trends. These pieces- produced by many different Brazilian tanneries- are always one of the big attractions at the fairs where they’re shown.
