Preview do Couro (Leather Preview Exhibition) gathers a collection of leathers from Brazil specially developed to anticipate trends that will sure guide the fashion world in the future. CICB and Brazilian Leather Project just launched Leather Preview Exhibition – Summer 2018 at Inspiramais, in Sao Paulo, and will soon present this collection of leathers at ACLE, in Shanghai, and Première Vision Leather, in Paris.
Preview do Couro has the support from Brazilian Leather, initiative focused on promoting leather exports to foreign markets and coordinated by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).
This edition of Preview do Couro brings 15 participating tanneries. Each company has developed a unique article for the exhibition with the consultancy of designers Walter Rodrigues, Ramon Soares and Marnei Carminatti. “Experimentation is one of the key points for this work, which has in the words adaptation, humor and subversion the essential concepts for stimulating creativity and the search for the new”, says Ramon Soares.
Soares says that the major reference for the consolidation of this edition’s color palette is the work of anglo-Irish artist Francis Bacon, widely known for depicting themes connected to social taboos. This time at Preview do Couro visitors will see hides with layers of plastic resins, embroideries, contours, and printing.
