What colours, textures and styles will inspire leather fashion for Winter 2017? With incredible accuracy, project Preview do Couro (Leather Preview) anticipates future trends through a detailed study of inspirations.

The initiative is promoted by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) and will be presented at the Summer 2017 edition of Inspiramais – Design and Innovation Exhibition, which takes place between January 11th and 12th at the Shopping Frei Caneca Convention Center, in São Paulo, Brazil.

This edition of Preview do Couro brings 17 tanneries. Guided by fashion stylist Walter Rodrigues as well as designers Marnei Carminatti and Ramon Oliveira Soares, from Assintecal’s Design Centre (the Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Manufactured Goods), the group created a series of unique articles that will be on display throughout the event.

The leather articles that will sure be employed on the confection of handbags, footwear, accessories and clothes for Winter 2017 bring back our roots, ancestry, and the collective feeling. Its color pallet highlights tones that reproduce the plurality of human skin. Colors that celebrate life also standout: pink, blue, yellow, green, and orange – nothing but essential for the collections’ harmony and chromatic composition.

Bovine hides come with finishings that resembling the rustic, but with a soft and flexible touch. Glossy structures, bringing volume and glossiness, remind us of the joy of being alive.

Among the exotics, Python skin comes to value productions, as well as fish skin such as tilapia, creating volumes and original textures when sewn using patchwork techniques. Caiman leather brings its natural textures amplified by classic wax buffered effects.

Inspiramais Summer 2017 is promoted by CICB, Assintecal, and projects Brazilian Leather and Footwear Components by Brasil.
