Internationally recognized and awarded in Brazil, the Brazilian Leather Book has gained a second edition. Produced under the guidance of the Centre for the Brazilian Leather Industry (CICB), and with support from Brazilian Leather – a project of CICB and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) for the promotion of leather exports –, the new publication arrives in order to promote leather produced in Brazil at an even higher level during international trade fairs, and amongst buyers, the media and the world’s major personalities within the leather sector. With a brand new fashion editorial and content connected to the high standards Brazilian leather is renowned for, the book will surely guide the marketing and communication actions designed to promote the country across the globe.

The Brazilian Leather Book is available in print format, with 147 pages both in Portuguese and English, as well as online, through the website www.brazilianleather.com.br. The underlying theme of the publication is the current moment Brazilian leather is going through, marked by its excellence in quality and design, as explains president of CICB, José Fernando Bello. “The value of our exports, the Design na Pele project, the fact that Brazil was Focus Country at the most recent edition of APLF MM&T (Hong Kong) and that its industry is increasingly focused on sustainability are very good examples of the leading role Brazilian leather has been playing in the international market. The second edition of the Brazilian Leather Book is intended to be the platform that materializes this scenario, and that shows our industry is taking accurate and lasting moves”, says Bello.

The editorial direction of the Brazilian Leather Book is maintained, with articles on fashion, design, sustainability and the unique characteristics of leather produced in Brazil, but it brings new data, cases and interviews. There is also a new fashion editorial, whose images illustrate the entire Brazilian Leather project new campaign. The editorial took place in Ibiraquera, a well-known summer resort located in the state of Santa Catarina, featuring model Janaina Nilson and clothes designed by Rio de Janeiro’s fashion stylist Patrícia Viera – whose articles are exclusively made of Brazilian leather and whose story of success in the fashion world is also told in the book.

The publication’s official release took place in Hong Kong, during the 2014 edition of APLF MM&T, the most important event within the world’s leather sector. The production of the Brazilian Leather Book – which, in 2013, was awarded at the Salão da Propaganda Gaúcha, in the Graphic Design category – carries the signature of Icon, a design studio from Porto Alegre, Brazil.
