During Inspiramais 2019_II in São Paulo, designers and buyers linked to the fashion sector will see trends for the hottest season of 2020 firsthand. This will be made possible through the Leather Preview 2020_I showcase, which exhibits hides and leather products in anticipation of the directions in which footwear and accessories markets are moving. The event will take place on July 17th and 18th at the Pro Magno Events Center. Inspiramais is carried out by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB), Assintecal, By Brasil Components and Chemicals, and the Brazilian Leather project, a partnership between the CICB and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) to encourage leather exports.
The prints, textures, and effects of the leathers produced for this edition of the Preview were elaborated in 13 tanneries from all over the country. In addition to the exhibition of hides, there will be a display of products made with these leathers in partnership with four brands: Nuushoes (female segment, Minas Gerais), Volta Atelier (Brazilian accessories with an "upcycling" proposal, or creative reuse), Cupcakeshoes (a São Paulo specialty brand with a fun appeal) and Cusco Rebel (an urban artist, proposing customization of designs in leather).
Marnei Caminatti, coordinator of the Leather Preview, gives an idea about the environment in which Inspiramais visitors will be able to see all these pieces: "It will be a creative space, an ecosystem of brands collaborating to build projects using the color and materials chart developed by the tanneries in the execution of their samples, footwear, accessories, and art" he emphasizes.
Take a look at the central concept that moved the development of the Leather Preview 2020_1 showcase:
“The Leather Preview 2020_I seeks to interpret the desires of the postmodern consumer, who is tirelessly looking for the reconfiguration of his or her lifestyle and identity. We use the word PLAY to provoke and challenge how we look at the moment of creation, textures, colors, shapes, finishes and volumes for the leathers. We create divergent finishes, causing an unfolding experience of interpretation when we simulate the look, touch, and finish of cement and paper on leather, projecting the RECONFIGURATION of this material.
We observe urban movements that are full of seemingly random references, translated by COLLAGE and the overlapping of images and information in the development of new prints and finishes. We draw inspiration from the EXPRESSIONIST movement, with its marked strokes, dots, and the intensity of Van Gogh paintings for creating textures and finishing on articles.
We believe that a transformation of established codes is urgent, as is the need to recognize the new consumer in order to successfully plan and execute a new business model. ”
