An intense agenda
awaits the Brazilian leather industry in the international market soon: two
different fairs will take place simultaneously between the 19th and 21st of
October, however on different continents. One, in Asia: APLF Asean, in Bangkok,
Thailand, with 21 Brazilian companies. The other, in America: ANPIC, in León,
Mexico, with four Brazilian tanneries.
The country's participation in the two fairs
has the support of the Brazilian Leather project, an initiative to encourage leather
exports carried out by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) and
the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).
APLF Asean, in Bangkok, is a new event of the
world fair organizer APLF (the largest in the leather sector), following the
example of innovation of the APLF Dubai fair, which took place in March and had
a very positive return from exhibitors. “ASEAN is an expanding trade bloc made
up of ten countries, including Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand. It is the third
largest economy in Asia and the fifth in the world. It is a very interesting
market and, as Thailand is a design center closely related to leather, Bangkok
became the ideal place for this event”, highlights Letícia Luft, manager of the
Brazilian Leather project. The fair is also a return to face-to-face events in
Asia – Brazilian Leather’s last participation in the Asian continent was in
2019, at the ACLE fair, in Shanghai.
ANPIC, in
Mexico, is reaching its 60th edition and has been consolidating itself in the trade
calendar of Brazilian Leather projects and its tanneries. As Rogério Cunha,
from CICB’s Trade Intelligence explains, the Mexican market has been worked
more intensively with research and approaches in recent years – including the
invitation of buyers and journalists from the country to visit Brazil in the
latest editions of Fimec and Inspiramais. This set of actions, highlights
Cunha, with sustainability, delivery and all the quality of Brazilian leather
should bring positive results during ANPIC.
In both
fairs, Brazilian Leather will have an institutional stand, promoting the
Brazilian industry in its entirety. The leathers from the Leather Preview (Preview
do Couro) collection will be on display, showing the efforts of trends view
from the tanneries participating in Inspiramais.
