Brazilian leather exports show a descrease in April

Economic difficulties felt by several sector during these first months of 2015 have now caused an impact in the Brazilian leather sector. The value of leather and skins exports in Brazil has decreased 19,5% in relation to the same period last year. Information comes from the Department of Foreign Trade from the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), with further analysis from the Department of Intelligence at the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB).

In April, leather shipped to foreign countries has generated US$ 206 million. In April 2014, this value was of US$ 255,794 million. In comparison to March this year, there was also a reduction of 19,4% (in March, leather shipped overseas generated US$ 255,658 million).

During the first four months of 2015, Brazilian leather exports reached a value that is 12.5% lower than in 2014.
