The first major international leather show with the participation of Brazilian tanneries since the beginning of the pandemic will take place soon, from September 22 to 24. It is Lineapelle,in Milan, having the Brazilian exhibitors Bolzano, Codina Peles, Courovale, Fuga Couros, and Nova Kaeru. At the same location, the Simac Tanning Tech will also be taking place, an exhibition of technologies and machines for the industry.

The participation of Brazilian tanneries is supported by Brazilian Leather – a project developed by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) which encourages the national hide, skin, and leather exports.

Lineapelle will happen at its usual venue, Fiera Milano, but with fewer exhibitors than in past years. In previous editions, the number of companies presenting their materials was around 1,200; this year, it will be approximately 750. Due to travel restrictions, a part of the visitors will participate in the event digitally.

The expectations are great at the Brazilian Leather project: "The last fair that our tanneries were able to participate in person through the project was in February 2020. There will be two another large trade shows in 2021 (ANPIC, in Mexico, and ACLE, in China), and we are ready for the busy 2022 calendar. Lineapelle, in Milan, will be a milestone in this new cycle of fairs for the entire market in which we will seek to put Brazilian leather in the spotlight," says Letícia Luft, manager of Brazilian Leather.

As explained by the president of the fair, Gianni Russo, the central theme of this edition is Imagination and Re-wonder, which are key concepts for the current market and creations. “Players keep telling us they have been missing Lineapelle, as our fair is of essential importance as a tool to develop research for materials directed at fashion, design, and automotive manufacturing industry. People want to discover and personally touch such materials, not just looking at the present, but also heading to the next future,” he said in a press release. The strength of the fair, its history, and the dedication of exhibitors and visitors to bringing face-to-face business back to life will be brought together safely, following all the safety and health protocols that are guiding every detail of the organization of this very special edition of Lineapelle.
