Design na Pele has been regarded as the most innovative project ever created within the leather sector. Soon, this genuine Brazilian initiative will be presented at Inspiramais – Design and Innovation Exhibition, in São Paulo, on a special lecture that will detail the entire creative process behind the project’s most recent edition – entitled ‘Escritas’ (‘Writings’). The lecture will also set the stone for the DNP’s third edition. Design na Pele is promoted by Brazilian Leather, project focused on the promotion of leather exports and coordinated by CICB (the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry) in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).

Design na Pele: a meeting between the technical excellence and the creative diversity of the Brazilian leather industry is scheduled to take place on Monday, June 27th, at 1:40pm. The lecture will be hosted at the Innovation Arena, located in the Pro Magno Events Centre (230 Samaritá Street, Casa Verde, São Paulo).

The talk opens a rich and diverse program, proving that Inspiramais is not only a space for showcasing leather and other fashion related materials but also a source of information and knowledge for the entire production chain. “Design na Pele has brought tanneries together, bringing surprising results. During Inspiramais we’ll share everything we’ve experienced and what we’re planning for this year’s edition”, says Rafael Andrade, curator of Design na Pele ‘Escritas’. Executive president of CICB, José Fernando Bello will be responsible for launching the project’s third edition, which promises to bring exciting news regarding its conception and execution.

Initiated in 2013, Design na Pele was created to promote inside Brazilian tanneries the culture of design and differentiation in their work. In order to achieve such objective, two renowned personalities were invited to join and guide the project: artist Heloisa Crocco and fashion designer Ronaldo Fraga. Both Crocco and Fraga led exclusive workshops next to participating tanneries, making the most of each company’s talent and creativity. Articles with unique characteristics were then produced, giving birth to fashion and decor pieces that bring a touch of innovation and the high standards Brazilian leather is known for around the globe. The Design na Pele exhibition has already traveled to Hong Kong, São Paulo and Milan, and it will be now presented in Vietnam.
