Every semester fashion and business converge for Inspiramais – Design and Innovation Exhibition, whose next edition takes place on January 16th and 17th at Pro Magno Events Centre (Samaritá St., 230) in São Paulo, Brazil. This time, 18 tanneries will be showcasing their articles, that have been specially developed for Summer 2018. The event will also promote lectures, workshops and trend exhibitions. Inspiramais is promoted by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB), Assintecal (the Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Manufactured Goods), Footwear Components by Brasil, and Brazilian Leather, project coordinated by CICB in partnership with Apex-Brasil (the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) for the promotion of leather exports.
The 18 confirmed tanneries come from five different Brazilian states, thus exhibiting a highly diverse collection of hides: there are companies specialized in bovine leather, others in goat or lamb hides, as well as tanneries dedicated to special skins such as python or fish skin. All products are the result of an extensive research, so that they precisely answer to the work of footwear, handbags, clothing and furniture designers.
Research is also the key-word for Preview do Couro – Inverno 2018 (Leather Preview – Winter 2018), which will be presented first-hand at Inspiramais. Preview do Couro is an exhibition created through a partnership between Brazilian tanneries and trend specialists. After its premiere in São Paulo, Preview do Couro will travel to the world’s major leather trade fairs with support from the Brazilian Leather project.
Also, visitors should definitely make time to attend the lecture Leather and CSCB: a look across certifications and sustainability within the industry, with Brazilian Leather Sustainability Certification (CSCB) coordinator Álvaro Flores. The lecture will take place during Inspiramais’ second day (January 17th) at 1:30pm. It is part of the short oral exhibitions (30 minutes each), all covering the theme Sustainability and taking place at the Innovation Arena.
